NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University volleyball team (0-4) dropped its four consecutive match of the season Friday when it lost to Youngstown State (3-2), 24-30, 32-34, 24-30, in the Youngstown State Tournament in Youngstown, Ohio.
Junior outside hitter Michelle LeSouder led Niagara with 17 kills, classmate Erin Graham added 11 and middle hitters Karen Simpson and Annie Wachob (Buffalo, N.Y./Mount St. Mary’s) had eight and seven kills, respectively. Defensively, Graham and sophomore Jessica Piscitelli each had eight digs and junior Micole Daluisio (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) added six.
The Purple Eagles hit .216, their highest hitting percentage of the season, but Youngstown State had 10 blocks in the match.
Niagara returns to action Saturday with a 11 a.m. match against Chicago State and a 1 p.m. match vs. UNC Wilimington.
