NIAGARA UN., N.Y. --
The Niagara University men’s basketball team will continue its season when it hosts Troy State in the 2004 Owens Corning National Invitation Tournament Wednesday at 7 p.m. at UB’s Alumni Arena.
The Purple Eagles, 21-9, are coming off an appearance in the finals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament and a second-place finish in the MAAC regular season.
Troy State, which won the Atlantic Sun Conference regular-season title, enters the NIT with a 24-6 overall record. The Trojans, from Troy, Ala., lost in the A-Sun Tournament to Central Florida, 60-55.
Wednesday’s game will be the first meeting between the two teams.
