NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -- The Niagara University women’s basketball team (16-7, 10-4) takes a five-game winning streak into Bridgeport, Conn., when it faces Fairfield University (7-16, 5-8) Monday at 6:15 p.m. at the Arena at The Harbor Yard.
The Purple Eagles enter the game as the hottest teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They began last week in third place and enter tonight’s game in first place. Niagara won its 16th game of the season and sixth game on the road with a 67-60 victory at Iona Feb. 14.
Fairfield will be trying to snap a two-game losing streak this evening. The Stags dropped a 92-82 game to Canisius on Feb. 14.
Monday's game is the 21st meeting between the two teams. Niagara holds a four-game edge, 17-13, in the all-time series.
