Women’s Soccer Team Has Winning Streak Snapped

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Ali Andrzejewski scored the lone game in 1-0 victory for Loyola College (13-3-0, 8-0-0) over the Niagara University women’s soccer team (9-6-1, 4-3-1) Friday in Baltimore, Md.

Andrzejewski’s goal came in the 21st minute of the game. The play began when Naomi Daniels took an indirect kick, corralled the ball and crossed it from the right side to an open Andrzejewski.

Niagara was credited with on shot on goal when sophomore Cheryl Williams (Tonawanda, N.Y./Kenmore East) had a one-time shot saved by Greyhound goal keeper Kate Gilfillan.

Junior Katy Owings (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary’s) made 10 saves and the Purple Eagles were out shot, 25-2.

Niagara returns to action Sunday when it closes the regular season with a 1 p.m. game at Rider in Lawrenceville, N.J.
