NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University volleyball team (2-10) split a pair of matches Friday at the Maryland-Eastern Shore Tournament in Princess Anne, Md.
The Purple Eagles lost 3-2 to Maryland-Eastern Shore in the first match, 30-20, 28-30, 30-22, 30-25, 15-11. In the second match, Niagara defeated Delaware State in three games, 30-22, 30-25 and 30-23.
Against UMES, junior Karen Simpson had 18 kills and hit .593. Sophomore Annie Wachob had seven blocks, junior Jennifer Hansford 40 assists and Micole Daluisio 19 digs.
Junior Michelle LeSouder and freshman Raelean Rush each had 14 kills in the Delware State match. LeSouder added nine digs and freshman Sara Mancini had a personal-best seven digs.
Niagara returns to action Saturday with matches agianst Long Island and UNC Asheville.
