Men's Basketball Team Begins Two-Game Home Stand Friday

NIAGARA UN., N.Y. -- After posting a solid 6-3 non-conference record, the Niagara University men’s basketball team (8-3, 2-0) returns to Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play when it hosts Manhattan (8-3, 3-0) Friday at 7 p.m. in front of a sold out Gallagher Center.

The Purple Eagles won their eighth game of the season Monday when they beat American, 75-72, in Washington, D.C.

Manhattan is riding a three-game winning streak after beating Canisius Wednesday, 81-63, at the Koessler Center.

The game will be televised tape delayed on Adelphia Cable Channel 13. Lou Paonessa and Brenden McDaniels will call the game. The game will air Saturday at noon and 7 p.m., Sunday at 1 and 7 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The game can also be heard live on WJJL (1440 AM) or on the Niagara website at www.PurpleEagles.com.
