The Niagara University women’s basketball team (10-6, 4-3) will be looking to inch even closer to the top of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings tonight when it hosts Siena College (10-8, 6-3) at 7 p.m.
Niagara is in fourth place and two games out of first place. Marist is atop the standings at 6-2, Saint Peter’s is second at 5-3 and Siena is third at 6-3.
The Purple Eagles won their seventh game in the legendary Taps Gallagher Center Saturday afternoon with a thrilling 68-67 win over Iona. Niagara has won three of its last four games and two straight at home.
Siena enters the game having lost, 60-56, at Canisius Saturday night. The loss snapped the Saints three-game winning streak.
This evening’s game is the 49th meeting between the two teams and Siena holds a 31-17 lead in the series.
