NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara women’s soccer team (3-4-1, 1-0) tied the Temple Owls, 1-1, Friday afternoon on the road at Temple Stadium. Niagara’s sophomore defender Amber Niece (Port Colborne, Ont.) scored the tying goal for Purple Eagles in the 72nd minute of play.
Temple’s lone goal of the afternoon was scored by Trish Dalton who managed to squeeze the ball past Niagara’s Katy Owings (Annapolis, Md.). Owings made four saves in the game as Niagara outshot the Owls 26-8.
The Purple Eagles are back in action Sunday afternoon when they travel to Lehigh to finish their three-game away stint. Game time is noon at Lehigh Stadium.
