NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University volleyball team (2-11) finished second in the sixth annual Lehigh Mountain Hawk Classic after it lost 3-1 (25-30, 30-23, 30-22, 32-30) to Lehigh Saturday night in Taylor Gym on the Lehigh University campus in Bethlehem, Pa.
"This was one of the most exciting matches of the year," head coach Rocco Lucci said. "We were tied at 28 in the fourth game, but then made three errors that ended the match. Stacy (Koslosky) really stepped up in the middle and had strong serving. All our middles had a good tournament and that has to do with mixing our setters not that Jennifer Hansford is able to play."
Sophomore Michelle LeSouder (Stratford, Ont.) had a team- and season-high 20 kills, classmate Erin Graham (Oakville, N.Y./Oakville Alabama) had 18 kills and a match-high 16 digs. Koslosky (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) had 11 kills and four blocks, while freshman setter Jessica Piscitelli (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) had 44 assists, four kills, two service aces and five digs.
LeSouder and Koslosky were both named to the Classic all-tournament team.
Lehigh was led by Jeanette Singleton who had a match-high 28 kills and 14 digs.
