Purple Eagle Volleyball Team Wins Second-Straight Match


Sophomore Michelle LeSouder led Niagara with a match-high 15 kills vs. Providence Saturday morning.

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University volleyball team (2-10) won its second-straight match of the weekend and of the season when it beat Providence (0-13) in three games (30-24, 30-23, 30-24) Saturday morning in the sixth annual Lehigh Mountain Hawk Classic in Taylor Gym on the Lehigh University campus in Bethlehem, Pa.

Sophomore Michelle LeSouder (Stratford, Ont.) had a match-high 15 kills on four errors for a .440 hitting percentage. Micole Daluisio (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) had a match-high 13 digs, while setter Jessica Piscitelli (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) had 26 assists, three kills, four service aces, five digs and three block assists.

Providence was led by Ayana Cadres who had 11 kills and seven digs.

The Purple Eagles continue play in the Classic when they play host Lehigh at 7:30 p.m.
