Purple Eagle Volleyball Team Wins Second-Straight

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Niagara University volleyball team (8-18, 4-3) won its second-straight match of the weekend when it downed Marist (12-21, 4-5) in four games (31-33, 30-6, 30-19, 30-27) Sunday at the McCann Center on the Marist College campus.

"We are excited about pulling the wins this weekend," Niagara head coach Rocco Lucci said. "This gives us a lot of momentum to work even harder this week to earn a spot in the conference championship."

Niagara is currently tied with Iona for fourth place in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference standings and finishes its regular season with matches vs. Fairfield (Nov. 8) and the Gaels (Nov. 9).

Sophomore Michelle LeSouder (Stratford, Ont.) had 17 kills, senior Valerie Arnone (Buffalo, N.Y./West Seneca) had 14 kills and sophomore Erin Graham (Oakville, N.Y./Oakville Alabama) had her second-straight double-double with 21 kills and 10 digs. Classmate Micole Daluisio (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) had 22 digs.
