LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- The Niagara University volleyball team (7-18, 3-3) won its third Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference match of the season Saturday when it beat Siena (5-19, 2-6) in five games (30-32, 27-30, 30-21, 30-26, 16-14) at the Alumni Recreation Center in Loudonville, N.Y.
The victory was the first over the Saints since 1998 when the Purple Eagles beat Siena in the Gallagher Center.
"We started out slow the first two games, but we kept our composure," Niagara head coach Rocco Lucci said. "Keeping our composure helped us in game three when we really came out fired up and that really changed the momentum of the match."
Niagara was led by sophomore Michelle LeSouder (Stratford, Ont.) who had 24 kills. Senior Stacy Koslosky (Elma, N.Y./Irouquis) had 16 kills and sophomore Erin Graham (Oakville, N.Y./Oakville Alabama) had a double-double with 15 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Micole Daluisio (Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster) had a team-high 23 digs and classmate Jennifer Hansford (Stratford, Ont.) had 48 assists and 10 digs.
The Purple Eagles return to action Sunday when they play Marist at 1 p.m.
