UB Invite 

AMHERST, N.Y. – The Niagara University women's tennis team opened its fall season competing at the UB Invite.

Match Notes

• The Purple Eagles competed against the host Buffalo, Toledo and Wright State.
• Stella Peisakhova claimed the singles consolation title in the A flight. After falling to Toledo's Sidnay Huck in three sets, Peisakhova bounced back with two wins. She defeated Wright State's Elain Cloern, 1-6, 6-5, 10-7, to advance to the final where she outlasted Toledo's Colleen O'Brien, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0(7).
• Ali Hutchinson (A), Shannon Wong (B), Sansriti Ranjan (C), Sharlee Deshmukh (D), Jasmin Vargas (D) all went winless in singles.
• In doubles, Peisakhova and Deshmukh fell in both of their matches in the flight A while Hutchinson and Wong lost in the consolation flight B final.

 
Purple Points

• Peisakhova got a bit of redemption after losing in the flight A consolation title in last season's UB Invite.
