YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – The Niagara University women's tennis team wrapped up play for the fall season at the Youngstown State Invitational from Friday to Sunday.
Match Notes
Singles
- Four Purple Eagles picked up at least one victory in singles play.
Flight A
- Stella Peisakhova won the lone Purple Eagle to win her opening match in the main draw when she defeated Oakland's Milic Marija, 7-6(7), 7-6(6).
- Peisakhova dropped her next match to UNOH's Alisa Reshetnikova, 6-4, 6-4, to move into the consolation bracket where she would lose to YSU's Macias Sofia and Oakland's Artamonova Dasha.
- Shannon Wong lost all three of her matches in Flight A.
Flight B
- Ali Hutchinson, Sharlee Deshmukh and Sansriti Ranjan all went 1-3 in their respective matches.
- After losing her first match, Ranjan bounced back to defeat UNOH's Aguilar Xiomara, 6-4, 3-6, 10-6.
- Deshmukh topped UNOH's Lacerda Ana, 1-6, 7-6, 10-5, and Hutchinson beat UNOH's Xiomara, 6-3, 3-6, 11-9 in the consolation rounds.
Doubles
- The team of Peisakhova and Deshmukh went 2-2. The pair picked up a 6-4 win over UNOH's Vispoel and Lacerda, and a 6-3 win over UNOH's Marques and Aguilar.

- The Purple Eagles are back in action when they return to Youngstown to face YSU in a dual match on Jan. 20.
