Meg Casey joined Niagara University in the fall of 2021 as the Assistant Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and Inclusive Excellence. In her role she oversees core guarantee programming and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Student-Athlete of Color Alliance. Casey serves as sport supervisor for Softball, Women’s Track and Field and Men’s and Women’s Cross Country.Â
Prior to joining the Purple Eagles, Casey spent a year as a Child Protection Therapist at Savio House from July 2020 to June 2021. In her role at Savio House, she served diverse families experiencing a variety of issues, including complex and post-traumatic stress disorder, substance misuse,mental health disorders, intimate partner violence, child abuse and/or neglect, poverty, social isolation and housing insecurity.Â
Prior to Savio House, Casey spent four years at Monmouth as part of the Athletics Academic Support Services. Some of her responsibilities included preparing detailed academic reports for football, basketball, golf and tennis programs, overseeing the student-athlete study hall program, advising Monmouth's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and overseeing community service efforts. She also designed and executed the summer bridge program for incoming football student-athletes and coordinated sexual violence prevention education through the One Love Foundation.
Casey is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals and has served as Vice Chair of the LGBTQ+ Committee. Meg graduated from Dayton, where she was a Division I rower, in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and earned her Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth in 2020. She also is a Nationally Certified Counselor and holds her MHC-LP in New York. She is also a Yoga Teacher. Meghan currently lives in Niagara Falls with her dog Luna.Â
