Vasquez is the primary athletic trainer for women's lacrosse, men's soccer and men's and women's tennis.
Vasquez came to the Niagara University campus after spending one and one half years as an assistant athletic trainer at the office Dr. Frank J. Schlehr in Lockport, N.Y. While at the office, he was responsible for patient care, including aiding Dr. Schlehr with evaluation and treatment of orthopedic injuries, MRI and surgery explanations, and brace fitting in the clinical setting. He was also the head athletic trainer for both Newfane and Starpoint High Schools and was responsible for game coverage and athlete care, including evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of orthopedic injuries.
Vasquez graduated from The State University of New York at Buffalo in 2004 with a master’s degree in exercise science. As an athletic training student at Buffalo, he worked with a variety of Division I-A athletic teams, including football, men’s basketball, women’s soccer, wrestling and baseball. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the New York State Athletic Trainers Association and the Eastern Athletic Trainers Association. Vasquez earned his NATA certification and New York State certification in 2004 and is certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
Vasquez and his wife, Liz, reside in Orchard Park with their daughter, Jocelyn.
