Chambers enters her seventh season with the Purple Eagles in 2024-25. After serving as an Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator for her first two seasons, Chambers was promoted to Associate Head Coach in January 2021.Â
Chambers brings 14 years of collegiate coaching experience with her to Niagara University, having served as a head coach, assistant coach and/or recruiting coordinator at University of Portland, Dominican University and Cal State - Monterey Bay. She has coached seven players that went on to play professionally overseas and one Harlem Globetrotter.Â
The Purple Eagles advanced to the MAAC Championship for the first time since the 1996-97 season. Niagara hosted Le Moyne in the opening round of the WNITÂ and earned its first postseason win in Divison I history. Niagara finished second in the MAAC in scoring by averaging 70.8 points per game which was second in the MAAC. Niagara had five players average more than 7.5 points per game. Aaliyah Parker led the team with 12.2 points per game while Angel Parker had 11.0 points per game. Both Angel and Aaliyah Parker earned All-MAAC Second Team honors.Â
Niagara had a program best 16-4 MAAC record in 2022-23 along with an 18-13 overall record. The Purple Eagles averaged 65.8 points per game. Niagara finished the season 18-4 when they scored 60 or more points in a game. Against Siena on Mar. 2 they scored a season-high 86 points in a win over the Saints. Both Angel and Aaliyah Parker were top five in MAAC scoring as they both were named First Team All-MAAC following the season.
In 2021-22 the Purple Eagles advanced to the MAAC semifinals while finishing the season 15-15 and 11-9 in MAAC play. Niagara averaged just under 70 points at 69.9 while having three Purple Eagles average more than nine points. Angel Parker averaged 17 points a game while Aaliyah Parker averaged 11.9 points as a freshman. Aaliyah was named to the MAAC All-Rookie team was Angel was a unanimous First Team All-MAAC Selection.
Despite a shortened 2020-21 season Niagara played just 11 games and went 4-7. Sophomore Angel Parker was named All-MAAC Third Team as she averaged a team-high 15.3 points per game per game while averaging 6.6 rebounds per game. Ally Haar averaged 12.6 points per game while the team averaged 62.7 points per game.
In 2019-20, the Purple Eagles went 10-21 overall, 7-13 in MAAC play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAAC Championships. Guard Maggie McIntyre was named the Sixth Player of the Year, while guard Jai Moore was named to the All-MAAC Second Team and freshman guard Adia Brisker was a unanimous selection to the MAAC All-Rookie Team. Six players were named to the MAAC All-Championship Team and 10 earned MAAC All-Academic Team honors.Â
During the 2018-19 season, Chambers helped the Purple Eagles to their best conference start since the 2004-05 season, with the team going 7-4 through its first 11 MAAC games. The Purple Eagles went 12-19 overall and competed in the Preseason WNIT for the first time in program history. Jai Moore was named to the All-MAAC First Team and six Purple Eagles were named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.Â

Before Niagara, Chambers was most recently an assistant coach at the University of Portland from 2014-18. At Portland, Chambers was the co-defensive coordinator, as well as the guards’ skill development coach. She also led leadership and Life After Basketball classes. While at Portland, she coached the 2015 State Farm College 3-Point Championship winner Cassandra Brown, five 1,000-point scorers, two All-West Coast Conference (WCC) Second Team selections and eight WCC All-Academic Team honorees and honorable mentions.
Prior to Portland, Chambers served as the head women’s basketball coach at Dominican University of California from 2007-14. While at Dominican, she assisted in the school’s transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II. Chambers placed a strong focus on academics as her teams maintained an overall grade point average of 3.2. She coached CalPac Freshman of the Year Taki Tekoi, as well as two CalPac All-Conference Team honorees, two PacWest Second Team honorees and three All-Conference honorable mentions. She coached the school's all-time leading scorer at the time, Alisha Flaaten. Chambers also started and guided the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years and the committee was awarded the Pacific West Community Engagement Award for the 2009-10 season. In her final season, Chambers led Dominican to a top-eight finish in the conference to qualify for the PacWest conference tournament.Â
Chambers began her collegiate coaching career as the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Cal State – Monterey Bay, where she worked from 2004-07. While there, she helped CSUMB transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II and into the California Collegiate Athletic Association conference. During that time, she had a player earn All-CCAA First Team honors and two players earn All-CCAA Second Team honors.Â
Chambers received her associate’s degree in liberal arts from Bakersfield College in 1999, where she played basketball and ran track, and completed her bachelor’s degree in communications in 2002 at Cal State – Bakersfield, where she played basketball for one season. She went on to pursue a master’s in sport management, graduating with her degree from the University of San Francisco in 2009.
