Nick Orlowski joined the Cross Country and Track & Field staff as an assistant coach in 2022, returning to Monteagle Ridge following an impressive career as a member of Niagara University Men’s Cross Country Team. Orlowski will be entering his second year with the program for the 2023 season.
While at Niagara as an athlete, Orlowski established the program records in Cross Country for the 8K and 5K and on the track in the 5K and 1500 Outdoors and served as a 3-year Captain of the Team. He was also the recipient of the Most Outstanding Student-Athlete in the Class of 2015 from Niagara University. Orlowski was also a 5-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team while competing for the Purple Eagles.
Orlowski brings a depth of distance coaching experience to the Cross Country and Track Programs at Niagara.
In 2016, Orlowski served as an assistant coach at Starpoint High School where he helped send a member of the Women’s Team to Compete at the NYSPHSAA State Championship Meet and helped lead both teams to a second place ECIC Division and Class B-2 Sectional finish.
Orlowski made the transition to the collegiate ranks in 2017 as he served as head coach of Cross Country at Hilbert College in Hamburg, NY. While at Hilbert, Orlowski organized the annual Meghan Memorial Race at Hilbert College and the 2017 AMCC Conference Meet held at Evangola State Park. He also elevated the program to new heights as in his first year, as the men’s team posted the program’s first under-100 scoring day at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships and took home 3rd place, another program best. Orlowski led his Hawks to multiple individual personal bests throughout the season and established new 5K and 8K program times on the Men’s side. On the Women’s side, Orlowski coached an athlete to two All-Conference performances in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
In 2020, Orlowski joined the D’Youville Saints as an assistant of the Cross-Country Program providing oversight over training and recruiting for the program. Following a two-year stint with the Saints, Orlowski returned to Monteagle Ridge joining the Cross Country Team in the fall of 2022 as Cross-Country & Track Assistant Coach where several athletes ran top 10 program performances and several school records, including Orlowski’s previously held records.
Orlowski graduated from Niagara University with his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, and his MBA in Accounting.
