Kara Husband Zimdahl joined the Niagara coaching staff in 2021. As a former Division I student-athlete playing softball, basketball, and swimming at Manhattan College, Kara brings a variety of knowledge both on and off the field. During her time as a Jasper, Zimdahl helped the Jaspers capture a MAAC Championship and earn an NCAA auto-bid. She also played a season in the Italian Professional League for team Collechio.Â
Prior to joining the staff, Kara coached varsity High School Softball for six seasons (2009-2011) at Holy Angels Academy, Immaculata Academy and Hutch Tech before becoming Erie Community College’s head coach in 2015-2018. At ECC, The Kats made it to the Western New York Athletic Conference tournament in each of the last two seasons. The team's appearance in the 2017 WNYAC playoffs was the first postseason appearance for the program in 18 years.Â
Kara had a short leave in coaching when she added to her family with triplet sons Christian, Connor, and Kevin. Kara and her husband, Jason, also have a daughter, Alexa.Â
