Joel Patterson returns to Monteagle Ridge in 2021 for his 11th season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Niagara softball team. Patterson will assist with the defensive and fielding schemes.
In his first season as an assistant in 2011, Niagara went 18-22 and three Purple Eagles were placed on an All-MAAC team, including the MAAC Player of the Year Teresa Healy. Since then, 50 student-athletes have been selected to the MAAC All-Academic team.
Patterson has coached travel and gold level softball in the Western New York area for over a decade. A native of Brunswick, Maine, Patterson is currently an Associate Professor of Cardiology and the Director of Clinical Education at Daemen College in Buffalo, N.Y.Â
