Why Niagara?
“I picked Niagara University because when I was growing up, I would go watch some of the D-I men’s hockey games with my dad and I told him that I would be out there some day.  Well that dream will come true this season when I step on the ice for my first game.”

2016-17 Season
Only player to play all 39 games in the season...Led NU defensemen with six goals, adding seven assists for 13 points...Scored three power-play goals and one shorthanded goal...Tallied one goal and one assist vs. Bentley (1/14) and vs. AIC (1/21)...Led Niagara with 73 blocked shots and ranked second on the team with 82 shots on goal.

2015-16 Season
Appeared in 35 games for the Purple Eagles...Tied for fourth in scoring with 12 points on one goal and a team-best 11 assists...Led Niagara with 48 blocked shots and ranked second with 78 shots on goal in 2015-16...One of two Niagara players with two assists in multiple games (10/24 vs. Robert Morris, 12/4 vs. Bentley).

2014-15 Season
Played in 25 games as a sophomore…Tallied six assists for a total of six points…Had two assists against Canisius (1/24).

2013-14 Season
Niagara's lone representative on the 2013-14 Atlantic Hockey Association All-Rookie Team...Played in 37 of 39 games, scoring five goals and adding 14 assists for 19 points, good for fifth on the squad and tops among NU defensemen...Amassed 16 points in Atlantic Hockey play with four goals and 12 assists...Scored his first two collegiate goals against Army (11/16) and added an assist for a career-high three point game...An Atlantic Hockey Rookie of the Week honoree (1/28)...Finished the season with 70 looks on net and a plus-4.

Before Niagara
Aquired by the Sioux Falls Stampede for the 2012-13 season...In 54 games with Sioux Falls, collected 16 points on four goals and 12 assists while leading the team with a plus-34 rating...While with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) during the 2011-12 campaign, Muto was named Rookie of the Year after registering 19 points off six goals and 13 assists in 57 games.
