As A Freshman: Chosen CHA Defensive Player of the Week once (Jan. 13)…Played in 23 games…Posted a 7-8-2 record…accumulated a 3.79 goals-against average and .878 save percentage…Two penalty minutes…First collegiate win, 5-3 vs. Air Force (Oct. 5)…Made 533 saves…Team posted a .472 winning percentage with VanNynnaten in goal…Played 52 percent of the minutes in the season.

 

Before Niagara: Played junior hockey for the Elmira Sugar Kings from 1999-02…Had a 58-11-6 regular-season record with 10 shutouts and 35-15 playoff record with five shutouts for a93-26-6 overall record with 15 shutouts…Holds the team records for shutouts (5), wins, playoff wins and GAA in a season…Drafted by the Ontario Hockey League’s Kitchener Rangers in 1999…First in the league in goals-against average (2.20) in 2000…Captured two league championship and provincial championships…Named to the league’s all-star team…Started first 20 games of the 2002 season…Posted a .929 save percentage…Attended St. Michael Catholic High School.
