Named to the CHA All-Rookie Team…Awarded with Niagara “Claw Award” following season...Appeared in 36 games…Scored four goals and 10 assists for 14 points...Ranked seventh in the CHA in points by a freshman...Led all Niagara defensemen in goals...Had four power-play goals...Recorded first collegiate point vs. North Dakota (Oct. 26)…Scored first collegiate goal in win over Findlay (Jan. 18)...Scored points in four-straight games from Michigan State (Nov. 9) to Alabama-Huntsville (Dec. 1)…Had two assists against Air Force (Jan. 11)…Had a team-high 64 penalty minutes.

Before Niagara:

Played for Pittsburgh Forge of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) in 2001-02...Named team captain...Helped lead Forge to 2002 USA Hockey Junior A National Championship Game...Graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 2000...Scored game-winning goal in the 2000 Penguin Cup, Pennsylvania’s high school state championship and helped team to the title.

Born Dec. 21, 1981, in Pittsburgh, Pa....Son of Gary and Mary Ann Hartman...Has one younger brother, Danny, and two younger sisters, Marie and Chelsey...Lists dirtbike racing as his hobby...His greatest career highlight was scoring the winning goal in the Pennsylvania High School State Championship...Majoring in finance...Right shot.
