Bowling FInishes 3rd at the NU Spring Classic

Niagara Falls, N.Y.-Niagara defeats Wright State in a best-of-seven baker match series four games to three to place third in the Brunswick Spring Classic. Kate Ackerman was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Kate Ackerman and Jocelyn Smith led the way with a baker average of 21.2, and 20.9 respectively.

Baker Match 1: Niagara 975, Mercyhurst 1037

Niagara lost their first baker match of the day by 62 pins against a strong Mercyhurst team. The Purple Eagles bowled three games over 200 including a match high of 227 in game four.  

Baker Match 2: Niagara 976, Penn State Behrend 877

The Purple Eagles soared to their second win of the day beating Penn State-Behrend by 99 pins. Niagara's strong team performance moved their tournament record to 4-3 on the weekend.

Baker Match 3: Niagara 1030, Bryant 1130

Despite recording their second highest score of the day the Purple Eagles were defeated by the Bulldogs by a difference of 100 pins. Niagara recorded a very impressive 238 in the third game of the match.

Baker Match 4: Niagara 1064, D'Youville 852

Niagara shot their highest score of the day to soar past Hilbert to clinch a spot in the third place game against Wright State. Niagara beat D'Youville in all five games to win by 212 pins.

Best of Seven Match: Niagara 4, Wright State 3 (179-213, 232-180, 149-223, 249-211, 211-226, 236-235, 215-168)

Niagara claimed third in the Fall Open defeating Wright State in seven games, with the series tied 2-2, the Purple Eagles finished 2-1 winning the last two games to capture third place.
