Bowling Kicks off 3-1 at the First Day of the NEC Meet #2

Bethlehem, P.A.- The Niagara women's bowling team won three out-of four of their traditional matches Friday during day one of NEC Meet 2. The Purple Eagles currently sit in second place behind Monmouth by one game.

Game 1: Niagara 949, Mercyhurst 879

The Purple Eagles started off hot with a game one win versus the Lakers with a 30-pin advantage. Jocelyn Smith led the team with a 236 followed by a 203 from Emily Brock.

Game 2: Niagara 999, LIU 803

Niagara scored 1-pin shy of 1000 to collect their second win of the day versus LIU. The Purple and White were led by Brock and Dakota Collins who shot 256 and 213 respectively.

Game 3: Niagara 1003, Duquesne 1116

Niagara dropped game three by a 113-pin difference, despite strong performances from Brock and Collins who bowled 234 and 212 respectively.

Game 4: Niagara 997, Wagner 622

Three Niagara bowlers scored over 200 in a convincing victory versus the Seahawks in a 375-pin rout to capture their third and final win of the day.

The Purple and White will continue bowling tomorrow morning to finish the final two traditional games and start the baker matches of the tournament.
