Men’s Soccer Falls to UMBC

Cutting UMBC's first half lead in the second half Niagara Men's soccer falls short 3-1 at Retrievers Soccer Park in Baltimore, Maryland.
 
Niagara drops to 1-1 while UMBC goes to 3-0 on the young season.
 
The Retrievers recorded the first two goals of the contest in the first half of the contest in the 27th and 38th minute respectively.
 
The Purple Eagles would not go away in the second half cutting UMBC's lead in half courtesy of the Hamburg, Germany native Niklas Kneller who recorded his first goal as a Purple Eagle. Jeremy Talsma threw the ball to Landon Hungerford who perfectly placed it to Kneller for Niagara's first goal of the contest.
 
UMBC regained their two-goal lead on a penalty kick in the 80th minute of the contest.
 
The Purple and White did not quit, recording five shots on goal in the second half of play but were not able to get another one past the Retrievers keeper.
