NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. - The Niagara Purple Eagles (15-13-3, 13-8-2) fell to Robert Morris 4-3 in overtime at Dwyer Arena Friday night, despite outshooting the Colonials.

How it Happened
After a scoreless first period, Niagara found themselves trailing 2-0 in the second before
Nathan Oickle cut the deficit in half at 9:45, getting assists from
Spencer Young and
Shane Ott. The Purple Eagles continued their comeback in the third period, with
Jay Ahearn netting his 16th goal of the season at 3:01, with helpers from
Glebs Prohorenkovs and
Trevor Hoskin, to tie the game at 2-2.

Though Robert Morris regained the lead shortly after, Lars Rodne brought Niagara even once again at 15:40 of the third period on the power play, with Prohorenkovs collecting his second assist of the night and
Alex Murray also contributing on the play.

Goaltender
Pierce Charleson made 31 saves in the losing effort. The Purple Eagles' special teams went 1-for-7 on the power play while killing off two of four penalties.
Tyler Wallace led Niagara's offensive effort with 21 faceoff wins, while
Jay Ahearn recorded a team-high 11 shots on goal.

• Prohorenkovs is riding a three-game point streak while recording two goals and four assists in three games. Prohorenkovs also has recorded eight multipoint games this season.
