Bowling Goes 5-0 on the First Day of the Hilbert Hammer

Niagara University, N.Y.- Niagara won all five of its traditional matches during day one of the Hilbert Hammer. Kate Ackerman topped all bowlers on day one collecting tournament MVP.

Game 1: Niagara 933, Roberts Wesleyan 807
Niagara defeated Roberts Wesleyan in the first traditional game of the day. Kate Ackerman led the way with a strong 216 to start the day off right against the Redhawks.

Game 2: Niagara 910, D'Youville 800
The Purple Eagles downed the Bulldogs by 110-pins, collecting their second win of the day. The game included a strong performance from Dakota Collins who bowled a 209.

Game 3: Niagara 883, William Smith 853
Niagara escaped a tightly contested match versus William Smith by a mere 30-pins. Sydney Skimmer led the team with a score of 203 to give the Purple Eagles just enough to collect their third win of the day.

Game 4: Niagara 939, Daemen 750
The Purple and White soar past Daemen by a 189-pin margin in the fourth game of the day. Ackerman led the team bowling a 214 followed by a 199 from Jocelyn Smith.

Game 5: Niagara 983, Mercyhurst 928
Niagara bowled a strong final match of the day to continue their winning ways beating Mercyhurst by 55-pins. Ackerman bowled a score of 234 to help the Purple and White stay undefeated and tied for first going into Sunday.
