Niagara University, N.Y. - Niagara Women's Bowling opened the 2025-26 season at the Mercyhurst Invitational in Erie, Pa., winning all five traditional matches while both
Emily Brock and
Kate Ackerman earned All-Tournament honors, finishing third and fourth respectively on the individual leader board after day one.
Game 1: Niagara 918, Daemen 786
The Purple Eagles led off the 25-26 season with a win over Daemen, including a strong team effort with all bowlers rolling a 170 or higher in game one. Emily Brock and Sydney Skimmer led the way with games of 193 and 192 respectively.
Game 2: Niagara 876, Roberts Wesleyan 837
Niagara collected its second win of the day by a slim margin winning by 39 total pins. Jocelyn Smith and Kate Ackerman shared the game high of 191 each, followed by another strong game from Emily Brock who bowled a 190.
Game 3: Niagara 932, William Smith 826
Game three saw more of the same with Niagara picking up their third win of the day versus William Smith College by a margin of 106 pins. Emily Brock eclipsed the 200 pins mark shooting a strong 210 followed by a 196 from Brynn Grant to help lead the Purple Eagles to victory.
Game 4: Niagara 977, Penn State Behrend 808
Niagara combined for the highest score of the day shooting a 977 and winning by a total of 169 pins, the largest margin of the day. Emily Brock lit up the scoresheet once again bowing an impressive 235 to seal the win in the fourth game for the Purple Eagles.
Game 5: Niagara 969, Wright State 911
The Purple and White won the fifth and final game of day 1 against nationally ranked Wright State, marking the first win against a nationally ranked opponent this season. Niagara soared to their fifth win of the day off three over 200 games from Emily Brock, Kate Ackerman, and Brynn Grant.
