Hockey Completes the Sweep of Bowling Green

Niagara University, NY - Niagara hockey improved to 3-0 with a 5-2 victory over Bowling Green Saturday at Dwyer Arena.

The Falcons got on the board first at the 3:54 mark of the first period with a goal from Tyler Hotson that beat Purple Eagles netminder Deivs Rolovs.

That was the only scoring in the first, but out of the first intermission break Niagara came out of the gates on fire, scoring 1:15 seconds into the period. Noah Hackett put home a pass from Marshall Finnie to knot the game up at one. Glebs Prohorenkovs also assisted on the play.

The Purple Eagles doubled their score seven minutes later at the 8:56 mark. Hunter Wallace took a Tyson Zimmer lead pass to beat Falcons goaltender Cole Moore after battling through a defender.

At 14:30 of the second Grayson Deitrich doubled the Niagara lead, scoring off a pass from Mitchell Becker and Jonathan Ziskie.

With just 44 seconds left in the period Lane Brockhoff scored the Purple Eagles fourth goal of the period, blasting home a shot from the point.

Bowling Green tried to make it a game in the third scoring at the 13:51, but an empty netter from Maxim Muranov wrapped things up for Niagara leading them to victory.

Rolovs recorded 32 saves in the victory.
