NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. — Meghan Andersen scored 20 points and Fairfield used a dominant second half to defeat Niagara 96-49 on Thursday, handing the Purple Eagles their eighth straight loss.
How it Happened
Niagara trailed 19-16 after a back-and-forth opening frame, but it would be the Stags (12-3, 6-0 MAAC), outscoring Niagara 77-33 from the second quarter on to turn a two-point lead into a 47-point win over the Purple Eagles. Fairfield shot 60.3 percent from the field and had five players score in double figures.
Kaety L'Amoreaux added 16 points and seven assists for Fairfield, while Cyanne Coe contributed 14 points off the bench. Sydni Scott scored 11 and Casey Prior finished with six points on perfect shooting, including two 3-pointers.
Marlie Dickerson led Niagara (1-13, 0-6) with 16 points but shot just 6-for-20 from the field.
Talia Dial added 11 points as the Purple Eagles struggled offensively, shooting 28.3 percent overall and making just 3-of-16 three-point attempts.
Fairfield dominated inside, outscoring Niagara 46-26 in the paint while holding a 42-27 rebounding advantage. The Stags' bench outscored Niagara's reserves 49-18.

• The Purple and White move to 24-51 all-time against the Stags with Thursday marking the fourth-straight loss to Fairfield.
• Niagara has now lost eight-straight games, its longest losing streak since the 2016-17 season.
• The Purple Eagles last lost a MAAC game by 40 or more points on Jan. 18, 2019 against Quinnipiac.
• Niagara last started MAAC play with six consecutive losses in 2010-11.
• Dickerson notched her first game with more than 15 points since Dec. 17 at St. Bonaventure. The junior also led the team in rebounding.
