Niagara University, N.Y.—The Niagara hockey team fell 3-0 on Saturday at Dwyer Arena to the Army Black Knights.
First Period
In the opening period Niagara goalie Jarrett Fiske was busy early and often as he faced 18 shots.
Army got the line goal of the period at the 12:12 mark while on the power play.
Niagara won 17 of 30 faceoffs in the opening period while registering eight shot of their own.
Second Period
Niagara outshot the Black Knights 13-8 in the second period but could not solve the Army netminder.
Army made it a 2-0 game at the 15:55 mark of the frame as they scored their second power play goal of the night while Niagara was attempting to kill seven minutes of combined penalty minutes.
Niagara went 12-10 in the faceoff circle in the second period. Niagara was 29-23 in the faceoff circle through two periods. Glebs Prohorenkovs had a team high 12 win through two periods.
Third Period
The Purple Eagles looked to get on the scoreboard in the third period as they generated a game high 15 shots in the period. Despite the effort the Purple Eagles could not solve the Army goalie.
The Black Knights tallied an empty netter with just over three minutes remaining to seal the game.
Niagara Notes
· Fiske made 36 saves in the loss, it was the 16th 30+ save game of his career.
· Jonathan Ziskie blocked a team high three shots.
· Luke Mylymok tallied six shots on goal to lead Niagara.
· The Purple Eagles had nine shots on the power play.
· Niagara went 41-35 in the faceoff circle, Drew Vieten won 84.6 percent of his faceoffs as he went 11-2 in the circle.
· The Purple Eagles have 35 points, they are currently in seventh in the AHA but have a game in hand on nine of the other 10 teams.

The Purple Eagles play three games against Mercyhurst in the final week of regular season. The series starts on Tuesday at Mercyhurst before heading to Dwyer Arena on Thursday. The regular season concludes on Saturday in Erie. Faceoffs for each game are scheduled for 7 PM.
