USAF ACADEMY, Colo. — Colorado native
Shane Ott scored 40 seconds into overtime to lift Niagara to a 3-2 victory over Air Force on Friday night at Cadet Ice Arena.
How it Happened
Ott finished with two goals and an assist for the Purple Eagles (8-7-3, 7-3-2), including the game-winner off an assist from
Glebs Prohorenkovs. The senior forward now has five goals on the season.
Tyler Wallace added a power-play goal for Niagara, which won despite being out-shot 39-18.
Pierce Charleson made 37 saves to earn the win in net.
Niagara jumped out to an early lead when Ott scored just 22 seconds into the game. After Air Force's Nolan Cunningham tied it in the first period, Wallace put the Purple Eagles back ahead with a power-play tally at 1:42 of the second.
Mitchell Digby pulled Air Force even at 2-2 early in the third period before Ott's overtime heroics gave Niagara its eighth win of the season.

• The Purple and White improve to 43-37-8 all-time against Air Force, including wins in three of its last four with the Falcons.
• Niagara has won six of its eight games this season while being out-shot.
• The Purple and White improved to 4-4-2 this season when scoring on a power play.
• Ott has recorded two or more points in seven of his 16 games played this season, setting a season-high three points (2g, 1a) in Friday's win. The Colorado native last tallied two goals in a game on Feb. 4, 2022.
• Ott is the third Purple Eagle to score twice in a game this season.
• Four of Wallace's five goals this season have come via the power play.

Ross Roloson has an assists in each of the last two games and is now tied for sixth on the team with six helpers.
• Niagara's 21 penalty minutes was a season-high.
