NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, NY – Niagara (4-9-3, 4-4-2 MAAC) earned a 3-1 win over visiting Mount St. Mary's as
Felix Kogler and
Cameron Roach netted goals to send Niagara to the MAAC postseason for the fourth-straight season.
How it Happened
Mount St. Mary's would score first with a goal in the 8th minute of action as Markus Nilsen found the back of the net.
The Purple Eagles would look for the equalizer later in the half as
Matheus Spina took a shot toward the net in the 24th minute but came up empty. Niagara would take two more shots in the half, including another from Spina that was on target but found the hands of Ethan Russell, the Mount keeper.
Jamie Barry would make one save in the first half as he stopped a shot in the 43rd minute to keep NU within one.
A red card issued to Mounts Dominik Topolsky in the 50th minute forced the Mountaineers to play down a man for the final 30-miuntes of action.
Niagara took full advantage with the extra man, scoring 11-minutes later as junior captain
Cameron Roach redirected one home to even the score for the Purple and White.
Later on in the 78th minute of action, Kogler would notch his first goal of the game after receiving a pass from
Asher Barnes. The junior would then add another goal in the 83rd minute off a free kick from around 30-yards out.
Niagara wouldn't allow Mount St. Mary's to take another shot, coasting to a 3-1 win in the regular season finale.

• The Purple Eagles matched their season-high in goals scored and have outscored its opponents 7-1 in its last three home games.
