YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO – The Niagara University bowling team won four of its five traditional matches Saturday during day two action at the Youngstown State Penguin Classic.
For the second straight tournament, sophomore
Emily Brock has earned All-Tournament honors after posting the third-best average (209.80) among individuals. As a team, NU sits in fourth with a total 9,522 and a 190.4 average.
Game 1: Niagara 909, Lewis 875
The Purple Eagles started the day off strong with a win over Lewis by the final score of 909-875. Brock led NU with a 215, followed by
Taylor Strickland with a 184.
Game 2: Niagara 1049, YSU 1020
Niagara took down the host Youngstown State by 29 pins, 1049-1020. Four Purple Eagles bowled a 200 or better, led by
Kaelynn Weber's 246, the teams single-game best score of the day. Brock posted a 216, followed by senior
Brianna Thurston with a 203, and Strickland with a 202.
Game 3: Niagara 1027, Valparasio 927
The Purple and White continued to roll as they took down Valpo 1027-927. Brock bowled her best 10-frames of the afternoon with a score of 244. Strickland and
Paige Snook followed with scores of 210 and 203, respectively.
Game 4: Niagara 992, Central Missouri 980
In its closest game of the day, Niagara edged Central Missouri, 992-980. Brock once again led the Purple Eagles with a 228, while Snook was close behind with a 225.
Game 5: Niagara 886, Arkansas State 978
The lone NU loss of the day came in its fifth and final match of the day to Arkansas State.
Paige Herndon bowled a team-high 204 in her lone game of the day.
