ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Purple and White went 1-1 this weekend, defeating Daemen on Friday night before falling to Siena in it's MAAC women's tennis season opener.
 
Match Recap: Friday at Daemen
Singles
• Coral Rodriguez picked up a 6-2, 6-3, win in No. 2 singles.
• Jaida Borg made quick work of Daemen's Del Leon, defeating the Wildcat in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
• Erika Gonzalez continued her excellent play, winning her fourth consecutive No. 5 singles match with a 6-0, 6-0, straight sets victory over her opponent.
• Emma Shea picked up Niagara's fourth singles point of the night with a 6-2, 6-1 victory on court six.  
 
Doubles
• Niagara swept doubles competition against the Wildcats.
• Gamble and Gonzalez didn't surrender a point on court one, defeating their opponents 6-0.
• Mayet and Velasco also picked up a 6-0 win in No. 3 doubles.
• In No. 2 doubles, Madigan Humiston and Rodriguez battled for a 6-4 win over the Daemen pairing.
 
Match Recap: Saturday vs. Siena
Singles
• Gonzalez continued her win streak with a three-set match win over Siena's Viswanath, 5-7, 6-2, 10-4.
• Mayet won the No. 1 singles match with Brown in three sets, 5-7, 6-4, 10-5.
• The Saints took the other four singles points to secure the win.
 
Doubles
• Siena took all three doubles matches to secure the point.
 
Niagara Notes
• Gonzalez is 7-4 on the season and currently on a five-match win streak.
• Niagara won three straight dual matches before falling to Siena on Saturday.
• Gonzalez and Mayet are 1-0 in conference singles action to start the season.
