MADEIRA BEACH, FLA – The Purple Eagles took both games of a doubleheader with Lafayette Tuesday afternoon in its final two games of The Springs Games. In game one the Purple Eagles defeated the Leopards 8-0, followed by a 7-0 win in game two.
 
Game 1 Recap:
• 
Maddie Hickingbottom picked up her first win as a Purple Eagle with a one-hit shutout in game one. In her five innings of work she struck out 11 of the 20 batters she faced.
• 
Maggie Vesneske doubled to right, driving in two runs, to get Niagara going in the third. 
Maggie Kellner also doubled, driving in NU's third run of the inning, followed by 
Shayna Myshrall's RBI single up the middle to make it a 4-0 game.
• The Purple Eagles would add a sixth run in the third when 
Kaity McInall reached on an error, scoring Myshrall and 
Samantha Hare.
• Niagara added two runs in the top of the fifth when McInall doubled to left, scoring Myshrall.
• Jaden Swaitek singled up the middle to bring McInall home for Niagara's eighth and final run of the contest.
 
Game 2 Recap:
• Niagara once again took off in the third inning when 
Kelsey Harrigan doubled in the first two runs of the contest.
• Kellner would double home Harrigan, followed by a 
Karena Recrosio single that drove in Kellner for the fourth run of the inning.
• In the bottom of the sixth, Kellner picked up her second RBI of the game with a single to left to bring home Harrigan.
• Myshrall hit a single down the third base line to score 
Madison LaPenta who entered the game as a pinch runner.
• Niagara's final run of the contest when McInall singled to score Hare.
• 
Riley Crum got the start in the circle for Niagara, going 3.0 innings, allowing two hits. 
Julia Thompson also pitched 3.0 innings for the Purple Eagles, allowing four hits while striking out two.
• 
Cara Leone pitched the seventh inning, allowing just one base runner to seal the win for the Purple and White.
 
Niagara Notes
• Harrigan finished the day with four runs batted in, followed by Kellner who drove in two  
• Myshrall picked up three hits and drove in one and Hare reached base three hits against the Leopards.
• As a team, Niagara picked up 16 hits and 13 runs batted in.
• In the circle, The Purple Eagle pitchers threw 12.0 scoreless innings, picking up 14 k's while allowing eight hits.
