WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles opened their conference schedule with a 7-0 defeat to the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Friday.
 
MATCH SUMMARY

Doubles

• The team of Eduardo Villalpando and Pere Padro collected Niagara's lone win in the match. The duo won 6-4 in three doubles.
• In two doubles, William Gothlin and Bruno Goncalves were edged 7-5. Quinnipiac won in No. 1 doubles to win the point. 

Singles

• Niagara lost all six singles matches, though two went three sets.
• Manuel Alonso forced a third set by winning the second set, 7-5, in No. 1 singles. He fell in the third set tiebreaker 7-6(3).
• In three singles, William Gothlin won his first set 7-5 before dropping the next two.
