Women's Basketball Signs Halloran, Porter

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara women's basketball head coach Jada Pierce has announced the signing of Aubrey Halloran and Lore Porter as part of the class of 2020.

"We are thrilled to welcome Aubrey and Lore into our Purple Eagles family," said Pierce. "They are both high-character people that value academics, as well as having a strong dedication to the game of basketball. Their winning work ethic and mindset will make an immediate contribution to our culture."

Aubrey Halloran | Forward | 6-foot-0 | Albany, NY | Niagara County Community College

Halloran joins the Purple Eagles after two seasons with the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves. Halloran averaged 12.2 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game during the 2019-20 season and was a Second Team All-Region selection. She also added 2.0 assists per game, 2.3 steals per game and a team-best 2.4 blocks per game. Halloran helped the Thunderewolves to a 30-1 record in 2019-20 and to back-to-back regional titles, which were the first in program history. Halloran attended high school at Albany High School.

"Aubrey is a versatile forward that presents a unique skill set," Pierce said. "She has the ability to post on the block, step out to shoot the three and passes the ball well. Aubrey also crashes the boards well on both ends of the floor."

Lore Porter | Guard | 5-foot-9 | Hyattsville, MD | New Hope Academy

Porter comes to Monteagle Ridge from New Hope Academy in Landover Hills, Md. Porter's high school team were the Geico High School National Tournament Champions in 2019. Her high school team went 23-8 in 2019-20 and were ranked fifth in the state of Maryland and 45th nationally. Porter played at the club lever with Maryland's Finest.

"Lore is a very good shooter with a great range," said Pierce. "She has also been a very good primary defender for her high school team, which played against some of the top guards in the country. She is a fierce competitor with a high basketball IQ."
