WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Niagara Purple Eagles were edged by the Edinboro Scots, 4-3, on Sunday.
 
MATCH SUMMARY
Doubles

• Niagara won in No. 1 doubles. The duo of Josh Wilson and Darrel Harxhi earned a 6-2 win over Nils Plutat and Tommy Hsu.
• However, the Scots won in two and three doubles by identical 6-3 scores to win the point.
   

Singles

• The match came down to No. 5 singles.
• NU picked up wins in three, four and six singles.
• Josh Wilson won in straight sets in No. 3 singles.
• Manuel Alonso cruised to a 6-2, 6-1, victory in four singles.
• Pere Padro dominated in six singles, 6-0, 6-2.
• In five singles, William Gothlin won the first set before being edged in the second set. Gothlin had four match points in the third set, but eventually lost 7-5.

PURPLE POINTS

• Manuel Alonso won his third straight match for his ninth singles win of the season.
• Pere Padro won his team-leading 11^th singles match.
