The Niagara men's hockey team returns to Dwyer Arena for the first time in six weeks as they ready for a two-game set against the Holy Cross Crusaders.

Matchup Preview
  • This will be the first and only series of the regular season between Niagara and Holy Cross.
  • Last season, the Purple Eagles and Crusaders met a total of four times, with each team going 1-1-2. Niagara won the series at Dwyer Arena on November 9-10 with a 6-3 win and a 3-3 overtime draw.
  • Since the two clubs first met in 1999, the Purple Eagles have gone 11-17-3-0 all-time against the Crusaders. That includes a 4-6-2-0 record in Dwyer Arena.
  • With 10 points (1 G, 9 A) in 10 career games against Holy Cross, Noah Delmas is the team's active leading scorer against the Crusaders.
  • Kris Spriggs' four goals against Holy Cross are the most among Niagara's active skaters.
  • Brian Wilson owns a career record of 2-2-2 against the Crusaders. In six games played, he has a 2.33 goals-against average, .909 save percentage, and one shutout.
 
Niagara Notes
  • Niagara is coming off two tightly-contested losses at No. 8 Penn State on January 3-4. The Purple Eagles narrowly fell, 3-2, in the opener, before dropping the Saturday finale by a 2-0 score.
  • Since November 22, Brian Wilson has led the nation in save percentage (.960), allowing just nine goals over his last seven games. His 1.25 goals-against average in that same span ranks fourth in the country.
  • On the season, Wilson's .932 save percentage ranks second in Atlantic Hockey, while his 2.22 goals-against average rates fifth.
  • Ryan Naumovski continues to lead the team with 12 points (1 G, 11 A). The freshman netted his first collegiate goal against the Nittany Lions on January 3.
  • With five goals on 31 shots, Jack Billings paces the Purple Eagles' offense with a .161 shooting percentage.

Scouting The Crusaders
  • Holy Cross started the New Year with a two-game sweep at home against Mercyhurst. The Crusaders shut out the Lakers, 4-0, on January 3. They took the next game the following night with a decisive, 7-2 victory.
  • Neil Robinson's 14 points (5 G, 9 A) lead the Crusaders this season.
  • Connor Jean has a team-high eight goals.
  • Matt Radomsky has played the bulk of minutes in net for Holy Cross this season. In 17 games, the freshman has a 2.91 goals-against average and an .891 save percentage.

  • Kris Spriggs
    • Is one game away from playing in his 100th career contest.
  • Noah Delmas
    • With 19 goals in his career, Delmas is one away from tying Chris Mackenzie ('00) for the program record for most goals by a defenseman (20).
    • With 73 assists in his career, Delmas is four away from tying Mackenzie for the program record for most assists by a defenseman (77).
    • With 92 points in his career, Delmas is five away from tying Mackenzie for the program record for most goals by a defenseman (97).
    • Delmas is also seven points shy of becoming the first Niagara defenseman to join the 100-point club.
