The Niagara men's soccer team will look to bounce back when it opens the home portion of its schedule against Northern Kentucky on Friday night.

Niagara Notes
  • Last time out, the Purple Eagles dropped a 4-0 decision at Western Michigan.
  • Freshmen Josh Savoni and Nick Burke each made their collegiate debuts on opening weekend. Savoni made three saves against Detroit Mercy on August 30, while Burke stopped 10 shots at Western Michigan on September 2.
  • Josh Tufino's two shots (one on net) are a team high.
 
Across The Pitch: Northern Kentucky Norse
  • Ryan Godding scored the team's lone goal in Monday's 1-1 draw with Marshall.
  • Last season, Northern Kentucky finished with an overall record of 10-7-0 and went 3-5-0 in the Horizon League.
  • Baj Maan has played all 200 minutes in net for the Norse. The freshman goalkeeper has allowed four goals and made nine saves in his two games.
  • This matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools. However, head coach Stu Riddle is quite familiar with facing off against the Purple Eagles. Riddle served as the head coach of the men's soccer program at Buffalo from 2013 to 2016.
 
At The Field
  • A pregame tailgate including food, lawn games, and prizes will be provided by Soar 40:31.
  • Soar 40:31 is an on-campus club that aims to be a caring community passionate about connecting students to Jesus. They are excited to collaborate with Men's soccer to promote campus involvement and support the student-athletes.  
  • The first 50 Niagara University students to arrive will also get free t-shirts courtesy of Soar 40:31.
