LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Niagara University women's tennis team posted its first 7-0 win of the season against the Rider Broncs on Friday.

Match Summary

• The Purple Eagles took a 1-0 lead after winning two of three doubles.
• The team of Olga Donchu and Megan Gamble won 6-2 in two doubles.
• Erika Gonzalez and Andreea Peteu eased to a 6-0 win in three doubles.
• Niagara dominated in singles, winning every match in straight sets.
• Niagara's No. 1 Chhinda Som defeated Vanessa Canda, 6-4, 6-1.
• Donchu picked up a 7-5, 6-1 win in two singles.
• Peteu battled to a 7-5, 6-4 win in three singles.
• Shannon Wong topped Amanda Binder , 6-4, 7-6 in four singles.
• Erika Gonzalez and Megan Gamble each won their match 6-0, 6-0 in five and six singles, respectively.

 
Purple Points

• Olga Donchu won her team-leading 11^th match in singles and fifth straight. She is 4-0 league matches. She is the only Purple Eagle with a winning record.
• Andreea Peteu improved to 3-2 in MAAC matches.
• Shannon Wong won her second straight match.
• Erika Gonzalez won her fifth match, including her second conference match.
