WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles returned to conference play on Saturday night, falling to the Marist Red Foxes, 5-2.
  
Match Summary

• The Purple Eagles' top doubles team – Chhinda Som and Megan Gamble – held on to win its match, 6-4.
• However, Marist won in two and three doubles to win the point.
• Freshman Erika Gonzalez and sophomore Olga Donchu provided points for the Purple Eagles.
• Gonzalez defeated Sophia Chavarria in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, in No. 6 singles.
• Donchu rallied from a set down to beat Chloe Lant, 1-6, 6-2, 7-5, in four singles.
• The Red Foxes clinched the match with victories in one, three and two singles.

 
Purple Points

• The duo of Chhinda Som and Megan Gamble improved to 2-0 in MAAC matches in one doubles. The tandem has won a team-high six matches.
• Olga Donchu won her team-leading seventh match in singles, while also improving to 2-0 in conference matches to be the only Purple Eagle unbeaten in MAAC play.
• Erika Gonzalez's four singles wins are third most on the team.
