The Niagara men's soccer team opens the second half of MAAC play tomorrow when the Rider Broncs come to town. The Purple Eagles, who are currently tied for fourth place in the conference standings, will kick off a stretch of three straight games against the three teams that are currently ahead of them in the table.

Niagara Notes
  • The Purple Eagles were tripped by, 2-1, by Siena in their most recent outing. Matthew Krucko-Moeller accounted for Niagara's tally late in the first half.
  • Josh Savoni's save percentage of .795 leads the MAAC. Savoni also ranks top 10 in shutouts (T-2nd – 2), saves per game (T-3rd – 5.00), goals against average (4th – 1.29), and saves (8th – 35).
  • Savoni's mark for saves per game is tied with teammate Nick Burke. Burke also has one shutout on the year, and the Purple Eagles are one of three schools in the conference to have multiple goalies record clean sheets this season. Their three combined shutouts are on par with Rider for the most by any team in the MAAC.

  • Rider enters the weekend with eight points in conference play. The Broncs have earned at least one point in four of the five MAAC games they have played in so far.
  • On October 16, the Broncs toppled Manhattan, 3-2, at home in overtime.
  • Five of Rider's last six games have gone past regulation. In those games, the Broncs are 2-1-2, with the loss coming on the road at Saint Peter's on October 9.
  • With 12 points (5 G, 2 A) on the season, Pablo DeCastro is the Broncs' top scorer. He is just one goal ahead of Clement Bourret (4 G, 2 A) for the team lead.
  • Pablo Gatinois has played 10 of the 11 games in net for Rider, earning a 1.39 goals-against average in those 10 appearances.
