The Niagara men's soccer team opens its conference slate at home tomorrow against the Marist Red Foxes. The Purple Eagles will kick things off at 4 p.m. from Niagara Field.

Niagara Notes

• Niagara's most recent outing was a dominant, 3-1 home victory over St. Bonaventure on September 24. The Purple Eagles got first half goals from Rodrigo Almeida, Dylan Avila, and Luca Pacheco to bounce the Bonnies.
• Avila also netted an assist last week for the team's first three-point performance of the season.
• For the second time this season, Almeida has scored in back-to-back games to take the team lead with four goals.
• Goalkeepers Nick Burke and Josh Savoni each hold a 1-3 record after splitting the action over the first eight games of the season. Savoni holds a 2.00 goals-against average and .667 save percentage, while Burke's GAA is a 3.09 and save percentage is .581.

 
Across The Pitch: Marist Red Foxes

• Marist enters the contest after winning its last game, 3-1, over Hofstra at home on September 25.
• The Red Foxes have not won a road game yet this season, having gone 0-3 to start the year. Their last away game came on September 21 and resulted in a 2-1 double-overtime defeat to 18th-ranked New Hampshire.
• Allen Gavilanes leads Marist with four points (1 G, 2 A) and 12 shots on goal this season.
• In net, Samuel Ilin has played every minute so far for the Red Foxes. Through the team's first seven games, Ilin boasts a 1.25 GAA and a .735 save percentage. The sophomore also made eight saves to shut out Saint Joseph's on September 14.
