Game Recap
- The Panthers took a 1-0 lead over the Purple Eagles in the first inning. In the top of the fifth, the Purple Eagles took the lead. Kelsey Harrigan doubled to right center to score Taylor Moody and Sarah Trifoso and put NU up, 2-1.
- Niagara extended its lead, 3-1, in the sixth inning with a solo homerun from Jerri Ann Orfano.
- FIU reclaimed the lead in the sixth inning, scoring three times to take a 5-3 advantage over the Purple Eagles. Niagara answered quickly; a two-run homerun from Watkins tied things up, 5-5.
- Niagara held the Panthers scoreless in the bottom of the seventh, forcing the game into extra innings.
- The Purple Eagles went scoreless in the top of the eighth. A run from the Panthers in the bottom of the eighth, however, gave them the 6-5 walk-off win.
Inside the Numbers
- Harrigan and Watkins led the Purple Eagles with two RBIs each.
- Orfano, Trifoso and Jennifer Timm each had two hits.
