POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Purple Eagles closed out the season with a statement, defeating MAAC No. 2 seed Marist, 68-61, on Saturday.

Game Recap
- The Purple Eagles got off to a hot start in the first quarter. In the first 5:05 of the game, NU went 4-for-5 from the 3-point line, including two threes from Maggie McIntyre, to take a 14-9 lead over the Red Foxes. Marist came back to tie things up, 14-14, with a little over three minutes remaining in the quarter, but Niagara maintained its offensive momentum and led 21-14 at the end of the first.
- Niagara led Marist by 10 points, 29-19, with 6:10 remaining in the second quarter. Bryant then sank a 3-pointer to extend the Purple Eagles' lead, 32-19. The Red Foxes began to creep toward Niagara's lead, but the Purple Eagles maintained control of the board, leading 36-28 at the end of the first half.
- A 3-pointer from Jai Moore opened scoring for NU in the third quarter and put the Purple Eagles up, 39-32, with seven and a half minutes remaining. Jamie Sherburne hit her second three of the game with four and a half minutes remaining in the third to keep Niagara in the lead, 45-38. The Purple Eagles controlled the remainder of the quarter, going into the fourth quarter leading the Red Foxes 50-43.
- Bryant added six points in the fourth quarter and Stroemple had five, helping the Purple Eagles come away with a huge 68-61 win over the Red Foxes to close out the regular season.
Inside the Numbers
- Rampado led the Purple Eagles with 19 and 11 rebounds to record her MAAC-leading 14th double-double of the season.
- Bryant added 15 points, tying her career-high.
- Moore and McIntyre led the Purple Eagles in assists with four each and Bryant had a team-high three steals.
