Women's Basketball Dominates Saint Peter's

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Niagara women's basketball team dominated Saint Peter's on Saturday, earning an 87-52 victory over the Peacocks.

Game Recap
  • Niagara dominated Saint Peter's in the first quarter of play, jumping out to a 15-4 lead, including 3-pointers from Moore, Maggie McIntyre and Rampado. Moore led NU with nine points in the first quarter, outscoring the entire Saint Peter's team, and the Purple Eagles had a 19-8 lead over the Peacocks at the end of the first.
  • The Purple Eagles continued to roll on offense in the second quarter. Moore added six more points and Kharysma Bryant sank the first 3-pointer of her career with about three and a half minutes remaining in the first half to put NU ahead, 32-12. Bryant hit another three with just under two minutes remaining. A 3-point play from Jamie Sherburne and a bucket from Rampado to close out the quarter put NU comfortably in the lead, 42-20, going into halftime.
  • Rampado led the Purple Eagles in the third quarter with 11 points and Niagara led the Peacocks 65-38 going into the final 10 minutes of play.
  • Sherburne, McIntyre and Rampado each sank 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help keep the Purple Eagles ahead of the Peacocks. Claire Wanzer added eight points in the fourth quarter and helped lead the Purple Eagles to an 87-52 victory.

Inside the Numbers
  • Moore led Niagara with a career-high 20 points and Rampado had a team-high eight rebounds.
  • Rampado added 19 points for the Purple Eagles and Bryant and Sherburne each had 11 points.
  • McIntyre led Niagara in assists with seven, which is a career-high.
