ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Niagara men's soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Friday, defeating Robert Morris, 2-1, as part of the Mayor's Cup.

Game Recap
- Niagara created chances early, with two shots from Karimi and a shot from Luca Pacheco and Josh Tufino in the first 19 minutes of play. Robert Morris, however, got on the board first, with a goal in the 29th minute to take a 1-0 leave over the Purple Eagles.
- NU held the Colonials off for the remainder of the first half and came out strong in the second half. In the 51st minute, a free kick from Karimi deflected past the keeper and Carroll tapped it into the empty net to tie the game, 1-1.
- Caroll struck again in the 60th minute, breaking down the left side and finishing by the far post to put the Purple Eagles up, 2-1, on the Colonials.
- Niagara played strong on defense for the remainder of the game, holding Robert Morris scoreless and coming away with its first win of the season.
